The Position

Fabbrica Unique is looking for an experienced Custom Millwork / Cabinet Maker who takes pride in exceptional craftsmanship, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is motivated to deliver high-quality work from fabrication through installation. This role is a critical part of the Fabbrica Unique team, responsible for turning detailed drawings and design specifications into high-end, custom cabinets, furniture, and architectural millwork.

Working closely with the Shop Foreman, Design/Engineering, and Project Management teams, you’ll be responsible for producing accurately fabricated and finished components that meet project specifications, quality standards, and installation requirements.

What You’ll Do

Custom Millwork & Cabinet Making

- Read and interpret architectural drawings, plans, elevations, sections, details, finishes, specifications, dimensions, and hardware requirements.
- Build and assemble custom cabinets, furniture, and millwork according to production drawings and project requirements.
- Install hardware and applicable purchased components into finished millwork.
- Fabricate detailed custom elements including mitred joints, inset pulls, chamfered and integrated pulls, custom door and drawer profiles, shaker doors, and five-piece panels.
- Work with a range of high-quality materials including solid wood, laminate, veneer,



trims, and other specified materials.
- Incorporate materials such as metal, mirror, and glass into millwork assemblies when required.

Precision and Finishing

- Match material grain direction and maintain consistent grain alignment across components.
- Execute book-matching and sequence-matching requirements accurately.
- Ensure consistency of wood grain and finish across multiple components and assemblies.
- Work with high-quality paint finishes and maintain the required standard of finished workmanship.
- Apply appropriate fabrication and assembly methods to ensure finished pieces meet both shop and on-site installation requirements.
- Perform thorough quality control throughout fabrication and assembly.

Tools, Machinery and Production

- Safely operate and maintain woodworking machinery, hand tools, and precision measuring equipment.
- Follow production drawings and Company established fabrication methods.
- Identify potential issues or inconsistencies in drawings, materials, or fabrication requirements and seek clarification when necessary.
- Adapt to changes in project scope, design requirements, priorities, and schedules.

Teamwork and Project Support

- Working directly with the Shop Foreman, you will collaborate with Design and Engineering teams to clarify drawings, details, and project scope.
- Work effectively with colleagues and support other needs as required.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior cabinet makers when required.
- May assist with on-site installation on occasion.
- Take ownership of assigned work and contribute to meeting project delivery and installation timelines.

Required Experience

- Minimum 5 years of carpentry/cabinet-making experience in the millwork industry.
- Minimum 2 years of custom millwork fabrication experience.
- Assembly and installation experience is considered a strong asset.
