Your Opportunity

We have an immediate part time opportunity for a Data Scientist to join our dynamic Environmental Services team in British Columbia. This position is responsible for developing and implementing Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered solutions, including Copilot agents and automation tools, that enhance operational efficiency, improve knowledge sharing, and support data-driven decision-making. Working closely with technical and business leaders, the role identifies opportunities to streamline workflows, optimize the use of environmental data, and drives the adoption of emerging technologies that improve project delivery and business performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement AI solutions that improve efficiency, quality, and consistency across Environmental Services business processes and project delivery.
- Design, build, and maintain Copilot agents and automation tools that support environmental professionals with knowledge retrieval, document generation, data analysis, and routine workflows.




- Collaborate with technical experts and operational leaders to identify opportunities for process improvements, translate business needs into AI solutions, and support adoption of new technologies.
- Analyze existing environmental assessment workflows and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.
- Manage and optimize environmental data and knowledge resources to enable effective AI-driven insights, decision-making, and information sharing across projects and regions.
- Ensure AI solutions are reliable, secure, and aligned with business objectives, while promoting responsible AI practices, continuous improvement, and innovation within the Environmental Services team.

Qualifications

Capabilities and Credentials

- Strong understanding of data governance, cybersecurity, and AI risk management.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and organizational change.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience

- 10+ years of professional experience in consulting, digital transformation, business systems, or technology.
- Advanced expertise with Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, and Microsoft 365.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
