Night Owls Needed!

Are you an extra-early morning person? Do you have a full G license, a clean driving record, and a love for fresh bread? Blackbird Baking Co. wants you to join our flock! You don’t have to be a baking master or pastry wizard to be part of the team that produces Toronto’s best-loved sourdough - our packaging/delivery department is hiring one full-time position. We offer competitive wages, advantages, personal days, and the carbohydrates of your dreams! Start time is 2:00AM!

The ideal candidate would be working alongside team members to pack bread & pastry orders for the first few hours of the shift and proceed to deliver the products during the later part of the shift.

The mornings are fast paced and ideal for independent workers with excellent time management skills.

Daily Responsibilities include

- Arrive on time for early morning deliveries, start can be as early as 2am
- Availability that includes Friday, Saturday and Sunday
- Accurately pack bread and pastry orders for delivery
- Accurately pack vehicles for the daily delivery routes
- Operate a vehicle in a safe manner, obeying all rules of the road
- Load and unload delivery vehicles
- Deliver products over established routes accurately and in a timely manner
- Comply with all company policies and procedures regarding the delivery of goods
- Communicate effectively with the public, customers and co-workers
- Perform periodic inspections before,



during and after deliveries to ensure that the vehicles are operating properly
- General maintenance of the vehicles
- Additional end of day duties in preparation for upcoming shifts such as delivery bag labeling, sticker packaging, cleaning & sanitizing the delivery area of the bakery

Required Skills and Qualifications
- A valid Ontario G Full license
- A clean Driver's Abstract
- Previous delivery driving experience (at least 1 year)
- Familiarity with the streets of downtown Toronto
- Available to work on the weekend (at least one shift will be on the weekend)
- Ability to lift at least 50lbs
- Ability to multitask
- Early morning availability (2am)
- Positive attitude

Bonus if you have:
- Experience using Slack messaging app
- Strong navigation skills
- Experience driving a Sprinter or similar sized vehicle
- Food prep experience
- Strategic thinking skills
