We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental IT & Data Security Specialist to safeguard our dental practice’s digital infrastructure and ensure the integrity of sensitive patient data. Duties

- Design, deploy, and manage secure cloud solutions to support dental practice operations
- Help Desk & Day-to-Day Support: Manage and resolve incoming IT support tickets from clinic staff, troubleshooting hardware, software, networking, and peripheral issues (e.g., digital X-ray sensors, intraoral scanners, and workstations) promptly.Indeed
- Network & Infrastructure Maintenance: Monitor, maintain, and secure local clinic networks, Wi-Fi, firewalls, and servers to ensure zero downtime for clinical workflows.
- Data Security & Protection: Enforce robust data security protocols, manage user access controls, conduct regular vulnerability assessments, and ensure strict compliance with healthcare privacy regulations regarding patient records.Indeed
- Data Analysis & Dashboards: Design, build, and maintain operational and security dashboards to track clinic metrics, ticket trends, system performance, and data access logs.
- System Integrations: Assist in the rollout, testing, and integration of new dental software, practice management systems, and imaging technologies across clinics.
- Staff Training: Educate clinic staff on cybersecurity best practices, data handling protocols, and the proper use of newly integrated software systems.
- Maintain and optimize virtualized environments using VMware and ESXi for reliable server performance




- Implement and oversee database systems including SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and NoSQL databases to ensure data availability and security
- Configure and troubleshoot operating systems such as Windows and Linux across servers and workstations
- Manage DNS configurations, VPN connections, and network security protocols to protect against cyber threats
- Develop automation scripts using Bash, Shell Scripting, Python, JavaScript, and T-SQL to streamline workflows
- Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and compliance checks aligned with healthcare regulations
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, and other tools for continuous improvement
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, security protocols, incident reports, and audit logs

Experience

- Experience: 2 years of experience in IT support, network administration, and data security—preferably within a healthcare, medical, or dental multi-site environment.
- Strong proficiency in network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, routers/switches).
- Hands-on experience with data security tools (antivirus, firewalls, encryption, MFA, backup solutions).
- Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure within healthcare or dental environments is preferred
- Familiarity with data analysis and dashboarding tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or SQL-based reporting).
- Experience supporting Practice Management Software (e.g., Paradigm, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental) is a strong plus.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical dental professionals
