Role Description This is a full time remote role for a DevOps Engineer in the data platform team at Rockland Tech Hub. The DevOps Engineer will design, implement, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure supporting data pipelines and analytics platforms, using infrastructure-as-code practices for consistency and scalability. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing CI pipelines, automating deployments, monitoring system health, and collaborating with data engineers and software developers to ensure reliable, secure data workflows.

The role also involves system administration on Linux environments, performance tuning, incident response, and continuous improvement of observability,



security, and operational processes. The engineer will contribute to documentation, participate in code reviews, and work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize development, testing, and release cycles.

Qualifications

- Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills, with experience using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar, to provision and manage cloud resources.
- Software Development experience in at least one language (e.g., Python, Go, or Java) for building automation scripts, tooling, and integrations for data platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration practices and tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI) to automate builds, tests, and deployments.
- Solid System Administration skills, including managing servers, networking basics, and security best practices in production environments.
- Proficiency with Linux operating systems, including shell scripting, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting in containerized or virtualized environments.
- Experience with data platform or data engineering environments (e.g., data warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, or streaming platforms) is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, Cloud-native monitoring services).
