Lead diabetes education initiatives with the Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council as a Diabetes Care Specialist. This full-time position offers the chance to make a significant cultural impact in health care delivery. Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council is hiring a full-time Diabetes Leader—either a Registered Nurse or Registered Dietician—for a 2-year term.

Based in Port Alberni, you will provide vital diabetes education and advocacy to Nuu-chah-nulth members while working across multiple and remote regions.

Your role will focus on utilizing a culturally secure approach and engaging the community in diabetes self-management education. Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ nutritional needs
- Provide impactful diabetes education to groups and families




- Collaborate in developing diabetes programs and resources
- Advocate for effective health solutions
- Mobilize community resources for diabetes care Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Dietetics preferred
- Current registration with BCCNM or CHCPBC
- At least three years of relevant clinical experience
- Certification as a Certified Diabetes Educator is advantageous
