Immaculata University invites applications for a full time Associate Faculty position with the responsibilities as the Program Director for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program within the Department of Health, Nutrition, and Exercise Sciences (HNES). The Program Director position is responsible for managing and supervising all operations related to Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS). This role includes oversight of program accreditation, faculty development, curriculum design, and student success while ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The target start date is January 2027.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee the structure and daily operations of the program,



including organization, administration, periodic review, evaluation, ongoing development, and overall effectiveness of the program curricula
- Ensure the quality and effectiveness of all clinical affiliates and clinical education centers are maintained
- Ensure educational responsibilities are not compromised by non-educational functions
- Promote and ensure valid evaluations of students by clinical instructors, department managers, staff sonographers, and peers
- Collect and analyze student data to monitor retention rates, credential pass rates, and feedback from employer and student surveys
- Ensure the program meets the accreditation standards set by CAAHEP and remains viable and compliant
- Develop and implement program-specific policies that align with accreditation requirements
- Develop and manage the annual programmatic budget with input from faculty and provide documentation for approved expenditures
- Recruit, screen, and facilitate the employment of qualified adjunct and full-time faculty in coordination with the Chair of HNES
- Assist in student recruitment, advisement, and registration
- Prepare syllabi annually, and coordinate syllabi and course content to meet program goals
- Collaborate with the Chair of HNES to determine effective courses schedules and the appropriate faculty for course assignments
- Manage labs and facilities to meet students' learning need
- Promote the DMS program through participation in university open houses, community events, outreach activities, and public relations efforts
- Serve as a liaison between the university and clinical agencies, fostering effective communication and collaboration with the Clinical Coordinator
- Collaborate with the Clinical Coordinator to oversee clinical education, including securing and maintaining clinical sites, developing schedules,



and ensuring appropriate supervision and competency evaluation for students
- Maintain accurate student clinical records in collaboration with the Clinical Coordinator, including calculating and reporting quarterly grades
- Ensure all program documentation (brochures, website, catalog, and handbook) is accurate and up to date
- Coordinate advisory committee membership, meetings and minutes.
- Maintain knowledge of current industry practices and integrate updated methods into the curriculum
- Participate in university committees, and Department of Health, Nutrition, and Exercise Sciences and campus events to support institutional goals and community engagement
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the departmental chair and dean

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

- Baccalaureate degree
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with Abdomen (AB) specialty and Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) specialty as administered by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Appropriate credential(s) specific to one or more of the concentrations(s) offered
- Documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance, and educational theories and techniques;
- Minimum of three years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field.

Preferred Requirements:

- Master's degree
- Sonography curriculum development, implementation, revision, and program assessment
- Accreditation standards and guidelines for sonography programs
- Registered in Vascular and Echocardiology specialties (RDCS/RCS or RVS/RVT).
