Most buildings still go up the way they did fifty years ago. This Vancouver company is doing it differently, designing and manufacturing configurable building systems that come together faster, perform better and leave a smaller footprint.

They're hiring a Director of Design, Engineering & Architecture to lead the technical side of both their projects and their product portfolio.

What makes this one interesting

It's a new function. You'd be building the department rather than inheriting one, which means you own the roadmap, the standards, the team and where the whole thing goes next.

You'd also be sitting somewhere most architects never get to sit, right between design intent and the factory floor. Manufacturing, site, procurement, third-party consultants, all of it. If you've ever looked at a detail and thought there has to be a better way to actually build this, that's the job.

What you'd be doing

Leading design and architectural delivery across projects and products. Owning the architectural roadmap. Managing deliverables, drawings, specs and resourcing.



Keeping everything compliant with code and zoning. Guiding manufacturing on design-for-buildability. Getting out to site when the design needs defending. Mentoring the designers and architects coming up behind you.

What you need A degree in Architecture and an active licence, AIBC or another province with the ability to register in BC. Somewhere in the 10 to 15 year range with responsibility that's grown along the way, and mid-scale projects you've actually delivered. Solid on Revit, AutoCAD and BIM. Comfortable with budgets and proformas, not just drawings.

Modular, prefab, CLT or advanced manufacturing experience is the thing that would make you stand out here. Sustainability accreditation like LEED or Passive House is a bonus.
