Director of Resident Care

Position Scope

Reporting to the Administrator, the DOC is a member of the Senior Management Team. The Director of Resident Care is responsible for the overall management and administration of resident care, ensuring facility goals and objectives are supported and translated into appropriate objectives and activities for the resident. The Director is responsible for the direction of all direct care staff.

This involves participating in the Nursing process from a team approach and coaching and developing the Nursing team to provide the best care experience for our residents.

Qualifications

- Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Current registration with NSCN. (NSNMR)
- Previous management experience is an asset.
- Minimum 5 years Nursing experience.
- Demonstrates effective leadership skills. i.e. Interpersonal, managerial, and problem-solving skills.
- Computer literacy and experience with CIVICA and CATALYST is an asset.
- Clear Criminal Record Abstract and Vulnerable Sector Check within the last 6 months.

8.Experience in Long Term Care or a challenging behavior setting is preferred.

This is a Full-Time position at 80 hours bi-weekly. Monday to Friday. The DOC is responsible for participating in on-call coverage and responding to urgent resident related matters outside of regular working hours, as required.
