Position Overview The Director of Procurement will lead the development and implementation of a centralized procurement function serving both retail operations and corporate business units across the North Atlantic Group of Companies. As a key strategic leader, this role will establish procurement frameworks, policies, procedures, and governance standards to support organizational growth, operational efficiency, and cost optimization. The successful candidate will drive procurement transformation initiatives, including process standardization, ERP integration, supplier management strategies, and the development of scalable procurement practices that support the evolving needs of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Lead the development and implementation of a centralized procurement shared services model supporting both retail and corporate operations.
- Assess organizational procurement needs and develop long-term procurement strategies that support business objectives.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that optimize cost savings,



operational efficiency, and overall organizational value.
- Oversee procurement strategies and business processes that drive operational excellence through cost optimization and risk mitigation.
- Lead change management initiatives associated with procurement transformation and process standardization.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders regarding sourcing opportunities, supplier management, procurement governance, risk mitigation, and operational efficiencies.
- Establish procurement policies, procedures, governance frameworks, and standardized processes across the organization.
- Develop procurement controls, approval workflows, and best practices to ensure consistency, accountability, and compliance.
- Ensure employees understand and adhere to procurement policies and procedures.
- Promote continuous improvement and the consistent application of procurement standards across all business units.
- Lead complex contract negotiations with manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, and service providers to secure optimal pricing, terms, and service levels.
- Provide expert guidance in supplier relationship management, contract negotiations, and dispute resolution.
- Oversee diverse spend portfolios spanning retail merchandise, professional services, third-party logistics, and construction services.
- Establish supplier performance expectations and maintain strong vendor relationships that support organizational objectives.
- Implement risk mitigation strategies to support supplier continuity and operational requirements.
- Partner with Finance, Legal, Quality and Contracts, and other stakeholders to align procurement activities with organizational requirements and demand forecasts.
- Ensure procurement workflows, controls, approvals, and reporting requirements are effectively integrated into business systems.
- Utilize procurement reporting and analytics to support decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support the development of procurement performance measures and reporting mechanisms.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration,



and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with leaders across the organization to ensure procurement strategies align with operational and corporate objectives.

Qualifications:

- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics or a related field is required.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain roles, with at least 4 years in a dedicated leadership capacity.
- Professional designation such as SCMP, CPSM, CSCP, or equivalent is considered an asset.
- Proven experience developing procurement strategies, governance frameworks, policies, procedures, and standardized business processes.
- Demonstrated experience leading procurement transformation, process improvement, and change management initiatives.
- Excellent negotiation, relationship management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency with ERP systems and procurement technologies, with the ability to support procurement process integration, reporting, and continuous improvement.
- Experience with Microsoft F&O;, e-sourcing tools, Excel, and Power BI is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of ISO procurement standards is considered an asset.
- Experience within retail, energy, oil and gas, engineering, construction, transportation, logistics, or other complex operating environments is considered an asset.
