Role Description The Early Childhood Educator is a full-time, on-site role based in Scarborough, ON. In this position, the educator plans and implements play-based learning experiences that support the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children. Day-to-day tasks include observing and documenting children’s learning, adapting activities to meet diverse needs, and maintaining a safe, inclusive classroom setting.

The educator collaborates with families by communicating daily updates, milestones, and concerns,



and works closely with colleagues to align on curriculum approaches and center-wide initiatives. Additional responsibilities include managing classroom materials, following health and safety protocols, and participating in professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.

Qualifications

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of early childhood development and experience working with children in a licensed childcare or educational setting.
- Creativity skills to design engaging, play-based learning activities and adapt materials for diverse learning styles.
- Organization skills for managing classroom routines, documentation, scheduling, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Relevant early childhood education certification or diploma (RECE or equivalent) and registration in good standing, where applicable.
- Understanding of inclusive practices, cultural responsiveness, and trauma-informed approaches in early learning environments.
- First Aid and CPR certification and familiarity with provincial childcare regulations and health and safety standards.
- Ability to stand, move, and actively engage with children throughout the day and to work flexible hours as required by the center.
