Percucision is a Montreal-based medtech startup developing creative medical technology at the intersection of electronics, sensors, mechanical design, software, and clinical applications.

We are looking for a hands-on Electrical Engineering Intern to join our engineering team and contribute directly to the development, prototyping, testing, and validation of our medical device technology.

This is a practical engineering role for someone who enjoys working with real hardware, troubleshooting problems, building prototypes, and turning engineering concepts into functional systems.

What You’ll Do:

You will work alongside our engineering team on activities including:

- Support the design, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic prototypes
- Assist with PCB development, schematic review, component selection, and hardware debugging
- Integrate sensors, microcontrollers, and electronic subsystems into medical device prototypes
- Build and modify test circuits, wiring harnesses, connectors, and experimental setups
- Perform soldering, assembly, and basic PCB rework
- Work with communication protocols such as I²C, SPI, UART, ADC, and other sensor interfaces
- Read component and sensor datasheets to determine electrical requirements, pinouts, timing, and configuration
- Use oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, power supplies, and other laboratory equipment
- Support hardware verification and validation testing
- Collect, organize, and analyze test data
- Troubleshoot issues across electronics, firmware, sensors, and mechanical integration
- Document designs, test procedures, results, and engineering changes

What We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for a student in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field who is comfortable getting hands-on in the lab. Ideally,



you have:

- A strong foundation in analog and digital electronics
- Experience reading electrical schematics and component datasheets
- Hands-on soldering and electronics prototyping experience
- Familiarity with microcontrollers and embedded systems
- Experience with sensors and common communication protocols
- Basic programming experience in C, C++, Python, or similar languages
- Familiarity with PCB design tools such as Altium, KiCad, or equivalent is an asset
- Experience using basic electrical laboratory equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good attention to detail and an organized approach to testing and documentation

Personal, academic, robotics, Formula SAE, design-team, biomedical, electronics, or other hands-on engineering projects are highly valued.

Nice to Have:

- PCB design or layout experience
- Experience with STM32, nRF, Arduino, ARM Cortex, or similar platforms
- Experience with sensor-based systems or medical instrumentation
- Exposure to regulated medical-device development, ISO 13485, or IEC 60601
- Experience with Git, MATLAB, Python-based testing, or test automation
- Experience with 3D printing, mechanical prototyping, or CAD
