Position Overview
AltaPro is currently looking for a full-time Electrical Purchasing Assistant to support our Purchasing, Operations, Warehouse, and Accounting teams.
This position is responsible for assisting with electrical material purchasing, purchase orders, vendor coordination, invoice processing, deliveries, inventory transfers, and related administrative functions. The successful candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with multiple departments and vendors, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
Previous electrical, purchasing, warehouse, or accounting administration experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities
· Create, process, review, and maintain purchase orders and purchasing documentation.
· Review purchase orders for correct coding, quantities, pricing,
and project information.
· Assist with purchasing electrical materials, equipment, rentals, and other project requirements.
· Request and compare vendor quotes and assist with sourcing competitive pricing and delivery options.
· Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, deliveries, backorders, shortages, and order status.
· Coordinate material deliveries, vendor pickups, will calls, and courier shipments.
· Work closely with field staff, Project Managers, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Accounting to ensure materials are available when required.
· Match purchase invoices to approved purchase orders and assist with resolving pricing, quantity, receiving, or invoicing discrepancies.
· Review vendor statements and follow up on missing or outstanding invoices.
· Process purchase order inventory transfers and maintain accurate purchasing records.
· Validate company credit card transactions and supporting documentation.
· Assist with setting up current vendors, credit applications, and maintaining vendor information.
· Assist with identifying bulk purchasing opportunities and other potential cost-saving initiatives.
· Follow up on back orders and source alternate products or vendors when required.
· Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems and purchasing records.
· Perform additional purchasing and administrative duties as required.
Qualifications
· 1–2 years of purchasing, accounting administration, warehouse administration, or similar experience preferred.
· Electrical industry, electrical warehouse, construction, or material purchasing experience is considered a strong asset.
· Experience with Sage 300 CRE, or similar purchasing/accounting software is considered an asset.
· Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
· Robust attention to detail and accuracy.
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Comfortable communicating professionally with vendors, field employees, Project Managers, Operations, and Accounting.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
· Proactive approach to following up on outstanding items and resolving purchasing issues.
Pay: $25.96-$32.45 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 44.0 per week
