Position Overview

We are looking for an Electronics Assembler to join our Advanced Technologies Production team in Saskatoon. In this role, you will support the production of electronics and associated products, including printed circuit board assemblies, electrical and electronic sub-assemblies, and cable assemblies. You will integrate fabricated assemblies into complete systems, apply your knowledge of assembly and production processes to troubleshoot production issues, support quality standards, and provide guidance to team members.

Depending on your level of experience, you may also take on more complex troubleshooting, mentor and coach team members, support quality and corrective action activities, and work with the Manufacturing Engineering team on new processes and product development.

This opportunity suits someone with hands-on experience working with small electronic products or components, strong attention to detail and manual dexterity, and the ability to adapt as production needs and projects change. More experienced candidates will bring strong production knowledge, leadership capabilities, and experience resolving complex or atypical production issues.

Responsibilities

- Fabricate, assemble, inspect, and integrate electronic assemblies and associated products
- Work across a variety of assemblies and adapt to one-off or unique production requirements
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve assembly, production, and equipment issues
- Identify root causes of production issues and contribute practical solutions
- Follow applicable IPC standards, manufacturing procedures, drawings, quality requirements, and prescribed documentation
- Inspect assembled products for compliance with applicable standards and drawings, including inspecting the work of others




- Address quality issues and support corrective action when required
- Repair assemblies when required and within demonstrated capabilities
- Use appropriate PPE, certified operator equipment, materials, and production equipment safely and effectively
- Identify workplace hazards and promote safe production practices
- Maintain required project and quality documentation
- Support, instruct, and mentor team members on assembly processes, quality standards, and safe work practices
- Work collaboratively across teams to support effective workflow and productivity
- Maintain a high level of care, quality, and attention to detail throughout the assembly process
- Proactively assist in other areas during periods of downtime
- For more experienced team members, demonstrate an understanding of upstream and downstream production processes and their impact on operations
- For more experienced team members, assist Manufacturing Engineering with new processes and product development

Qualifications

- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience within a similar or related industry
- Experience working with small electronic products or components
- Solid manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships




- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to different projects and assembly requirements
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot production or assembly issues
- For more senior-level opportunities, 5+ years of experience within a similar or related industry
- For more senior-level opportunities, demonstrated experience resolving complex or atypical production problems
- For more senior-level opportunities, demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, or instruct others
- For more senior-level opportunities, strong understanding of production processes, quality requirements, and corrective actions
- Prior experience in a fast-paced environment is an asset
- Soldering or electronic assembly experience is an asset
- Comfort working with computers and associated tasks

Additional Requirements

- Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum Government of Canada Reliability Status security clearance
- Ability to sit or stand for a full shift and perform the physical requirements associated with electronics assembly, including frequent gripping, grasping, pinching, wrist movement, and other repetitive hand motions
- Ability to work onsite at our Innovation Place facility in Saskatoon
- Commitment to following health and safety requirements, including the appropriate use of PPE and safe work practices

Compensation

$18.00 to $30.00 per hour

Compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate’s experience.
