About the Job

We are looking for a recent engineering graduate who is curious, hands-on, and eager to learn.

Previous professional engineering experience is not required. We are more interested in your ability to learn quickly, solve problems, and take initiative.

You will work closely with experienced technical staff on a variety of engineering and product-development projects involving electronics, software, hardware, testing, prototyping, and troubleshooting.

This is a broad role designed to expose you to different areas of engineering. After gaining experience, there will be opportunities to develop your role toward the technical areas that interest you most.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

Your work may include

- Testing and troubleshooting electronic and electromechanical systems
- Working with prototype PCBs and electronic components
- Writing or modifying simple software, scripts, or test programs
- Assisting with hardware/software integration
- Collecting and analyzing test data




- Researching components and technical solutions
- Preparing technical documentation
- Supporting prototype development and product improvements

You are not expected to already know how to do everything listed above.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Registered, or eligible for registration as an Engineer-In-Training with APEGA
- 0 – 2 years of engineering experience
- Basic knowledge of electronics and electronic components
- Some programming experience in any language
- Robust problem-solving and logical-thinking skills
- Fast learner with a willingness to learn new technologies
- Good attention to detail
- Comfortable asking questions and working independently after receiving direction

We welcome graduates from Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Software, Mechanical, Mechatronics, and other engineering disciplines.

Assets:

The following are helpful but not required:

- Arduino, ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi, or microcontroller experience
- Electronics prototyping, soldering, schematic, or PCB experience
- Python, C/C++, Java, JavaScript, or other programming experience. GitHub experience is an asset.
- CAD, robotics, automation, or embedded-system experience
- Personal or university engineering projects
- Knowledge or personal interest in audio, music, recording, or sound engineering
- Has taken a project from conception to prototype before.





Personal projects and hobby experience are valuable and are encouraged to be included in your application.

Professional Development:

This position offers significant opportunities to learn from experienced engineers and software developers.

Our team includes a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), providing opportunities for mentorship and engineering experience relevant to professional development and future P.Eng. registration, subject to APEGA requirements.
