Our client is seeking a JR/Intermediate Engineer to help support the development and delivery of high-quality Maintainability/Reliability documentation within a complex manufacturing and engineering environment. Working closely with other Engineers, Project Managers, and other business units you will transform complex engineering data, drawings, specifications, and source information into clear, accurate, and user-focused technical publications. This role would be great for someone who enjoys the documentation side of engineering with experience preparing technical reports, manuals, procedures or other engineering documentation .

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain technical documentation, including operating manuals, maintenance manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs, and related ILS deliverables, in accordance with customer, defense, industry, and company requirements.

Translate engineering drawings, specifications, design data, and approved source information into clear, accurate documentation that can be effectively used by technical personnel and end users.

Collaborate with Engineering, Configuration Management, Program Management, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to obtain source data, resolve content gaps, verify technical information, and maintain documentation accuracy.

Ensure assigned publications comply with applicable MIL-STD/DEF STAN requirements, classification society regulations, contract requirements, and internal quality management systems.

Create, update, and publish structured technical documentation using authoring and content management tools such as MadCap, HICO IPS Suite, R4i, Arbortext, Adobe FrameMaker, XML editors, Raytheon Eagle, and Microsoft Office.

Perform technical verification, content validation, quality checks,



configuration updates, and version control to ensure documentation is complete, consistent, accurate, and ready for customer review, acceptance, and audit.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, Communications, English, or a related discipline, combined with a minimum of 2+ years of technical writing or documentation experience.

Experience developing technical documentation within a defense, naval, maritime, manufacturing, or heavy engineering setting is strongly preferred.

Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, design data, and technical source material and translate complex information into clear, structured documentation.

Strong knowledge of technical writing principles, structured documentation, and applicable documentation standards, with familiarity with defense standards such as MIL-STD and/or DEF STAN and ILS frameworks considered an asset.

Proficiency with technical authoring and content management tools, ideally including MadCap, HICO IPS Suite, R4i, Arbortext, Adobe FrameMaker, Raytheon Eagle, XML editors, and Microsoft Office.

Exceptional attention to detail, organization, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple deliverables, meet defined milestones, and proactively identify opportunities to improve documentation processes and quality.

Pay: $42-48 per/hour

Contract: 12 months – hybrid after first two months – located in North Vancouver, BC
