About the Role:

Working within the Broadcast and Journalism department, this is a flexible position whose work schedule is variable and may include an irregular schedule of not less than three (3) hours per shift and up to thirty-five (35) hours per week.

The Equipment Manager will manage all Broadcast/Journalism video camera kits, light kits, DSLR kits, audio kits and accessories for all Broadcasting (BMS) and Journalism (JDM) students.

The Equipment Manager’s desk hours are Mon-Fri 8:30am-12pm and 1pm-5pm, Sun 1pm-4pm. The office will be closed outside of those hours and equipment pick-up/drop-off will not be available. The first pick-up/drop-off time is at 8:30 am (Mon-Fri) and the last pick-up/drop-off time is 4:50pm (Mon-Fri).

Responsibilities:

- Track and thoroughly assess all gear being checked out/in,
- Proactively monitor booking schedules and manage Checkfront and SCS email account in a detailed manner
- Ensure all battery powered equipment is charged and ready for the next user,




- Report any equipment problems/loss/damage
- Contact students, instructors and staff regarding issues with bookings (late returns, cancellations, missing or damaged gear, etc)
- Ensure equipment room is organized, tidy and secure
- Troubleshoot equipment issues where possible
- Inform students of booking/loan policies and procedures
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Duties must be completed using the utmost of qualified standards.

Qualifications:

- Organizational, technical and troubleshooting skills required
- An ability to prioritize and be proactive
- A self-starter who can juggle multiple tasks simultaneously

Salary: $15.45 - $19.44 per hour
