Organizational Profile The Rural Coordination Centre of BC (RCCbc) officially acknowledges work on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of Indigenous Peoples across BC, with its core provincial office located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
RCCbc works to improve the health and well-being of rural, remote, and Indigenous communities across BC. Through collaboration, innovation, and strong partnerships with healthcare providers, communities, and system leaders, RCCbc supports initiatives that strengthen healthcare delivery, advance equitable access to care, and foster sustainable solutions for rural health challenges.
Real-Time Virtual Support Program (RTVS) is RCCbc’s flagship provincial program, delivered in partnership with the First Nations Health Authority, the BC Ministry of Health, and regional healthcare partners. The program provides rural, remote, and Indigenous frontline healthcare providers with 24/7 access to virtual physician and specialist support through a network of peer-to-peer clinical pathways. RTVS is transforming healthcare access and outcomes across BC.
About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, RCCbc, the Executive Director is the single accountable leader for the RTVS program. The Executive Director sets the program direction required to translate RCCbc and partner priorities into a coherent strategy and operating agenda. The Executive Director leads the RTVS leadership team and is responsible for the overall performance, sustainability and integrity of the program.
This is an exceptional prospect for a collaborative and visionary health-care leader to provide strategic direction and operational oversight for a complex provincial program. The preferred candidate will bring extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams, driving organizational effectiveness, and aligning people, resources, and priorities to achieve meaningful outcomes. This position requires graduate degree (in medicine, nursing, health administration, public health or a related health discipline) in combination with a minimum of ten years of progressively senior leadership experience in health care, including responsibility for complex programs, budgets, partnerships, and multidisciplinary teams.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
This position is open to both physician and non-physician applicants. The salary range for non-physician candidates is $120,000 to $165,000 for a full-time position. Physician compensation is based on a 0.5 FTE appointment and PMA-negotiated sessional rates.
