The Ministry of Hospitals and Surgical Health Services is building a more resilient and sustainable health care delivery system that can support Albertans getting care when and where they need it, while responding to system-wide health challenges, improving health outcomes and maintaining fiscal responsibility. The ministry supports Albertans’ health by delivering safe, person-centered, quality emergency and medical health services; procurement and contract management; supporting cutting-edge information management and technologies; and regulating hospital and emergency health care.

Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM), you will provide policy and research expertise and provide strategic advice on a broad range of policy issues that guides, informs, supports, and represents Ministry business initiatives and policy direction.

As Executive

Director you will play a key strategic role in ensuring that quality mechanisms such as performance frameworks and recommendations are strategic and timely related to provincial clinical programs such as Trauma Program, Children’s Health, Women’s Health, Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation, blood program, along with many others.





You will build and maintain effective relationships with provincial and federal counterparts, Acute Care Alberta, and key clinical stakeholders as required in this position, ensuring that Alberta's interests and priorities are represented. You are recognized as knowledgeable and credible in interactions and relationships with health care providers and administrators, private sector innovators, provincially, nationally and internationally.

As Executive

Director, you will also oversee the operations of the branch and participate on the division leadership team.

QualificationsSuccess in this role calls for a progressive leader with a background that includes significant related senior management leadership experience within a public sector, research, or complex non-governmental organizational setting. You bring demonstrated experience leading related health programs, complex strategic policy and planning, operational, or system transformation A practiced relationship builder, you excel at engaging stakeholders in shaping and implementing high impact. You possess a proven track record of provided strategic advice to senior executives and government decisions makers.

Your capacity to inspire and empower change-agile teams will support you in delivering on key objectives. Related bachelor’s degree is required and a master’s degree in health administration or health sciences is preferred.

$ 5,896.65 - $7,749.28 bi-weekly ($153,902.57 - $202.256.21 annually)
