Experienced Appliance Repair Technician - Independent Contractor

$100,000-$180,000 annual earning potential | 45% commission

FixRight Appliance Repair is looking for experienced residential appliance repair technicians to join our growing service network in the Greater Toronto Area, primarily Mississauga, Oakville, Toronto West and surrounding areas.

We are looking for experienced technicians who can independently diagnose appliance problems, communicate confidently with homeowners, present repair options and complete approved repairs professionally.

This is a commission-based independent contractor opportunity. Technicians earn 45% of the labour revenue on the jobs they sell and complete. The $100,000-$180,000 range represents potential annual earnings based on job volume, availability, repair value, sales and productivity. It is not a guaranteed salary and is not paid in addition to the 45% commission.

What You'll Do

- Diagnose and repair refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, ranges and other major residential appliances
- Accurately troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and electronic control issues
- Explain diagnoses and recommended repairs clearly to homeowners
- Present repair estimates and confidently convert appropriate diagnoses into approved repairs
- Complete approved repairs professionally and efficiently
- Record complete job notes, estimates, photos, parts information and job status updates in our field service app
- Provide excellent customer service from diagnosis through completed repair

rather than low-paying warranty or flat-rate work.

Requirements

- Proven professional appliance repair experience
- Solid diagnostic and troubleshooting ability
- Ability to work independently in customers' homes
- Comfortable presenting repair recommendations and estimates to customers
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Professional appearance and conduct
- Reliable and organized
- Own reliable vehicle
- Own professional tools and diagnostic equipment
- Active liability insurance
- Valid driver's licence
- Smartphone with reliable data access
- Willing and able to use Housecall Pro to accurately record job notes, estimates, photos, parts requirements and job updates

Strong Assets
- 5+ years of professional appliance repair experience
- Experience with premium brands such as Miele, Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador, Monogram and Viking
- Built-in refrigeration or sealed-system experience
- Strong electronic diagnostic experience
- Gas appliance repair experience
- Valid Ontario G2 or G3 Gas Technician certification, with G2 especially desirable

This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for experienced technicians who can take ownership of a service call from diagnosis through completed repair and represent FixRight professionally in the customer's home.
