Are you an experienced accounting professional looking for a role that offers skilled responsibility without a traditional full-time schedule?

Woodlawn Memorial Park is a charitable organization that has proudly served the Guelph community since 1854. We are seeking an experienced Accountant to take responsibility for the organization's day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, payroll, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.

We offer 24–35 hours per week, with flexibility to tailor the schedule to the successful candidate's availability and organizational needs. About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, the Accountant plays an important role in maintaining the financial integrity and long-term sustainability of Woodlawn Memorial Park.

You will be responsible for:

- Managing full-cycle accounting, including the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Preparing monthly and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Supporting annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Coordinating the annual audit and working with external auditors.
- Processing payroll and administering employee benefits and pension programs, including statutory remittances.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and effective internal controls.
- Administering prepaid trust and Care and Maintenance Fund records in accordance with applicable Ontario legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Preparing required regulatory and charitable organization reports and filings.
- Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting.

What We're Looking For We are looking for an accounting professional who is experienced,



dependable, analytical, and comfortable working independently.

You will ideally have

- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Several years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience with full-cycle accounting, payroll, benefits, and pension administration.
- Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and audit preparation.
- Strong proficiency with Sage accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- A high degree of accuracy, discretion, confidentiality, and professional judgment.
- CPA designation or progress toward designation is an asset.
- Experience in the charitable or not-for-profit sector is an asset.

Specialized Industry Experience – An Asset, Not a Requirement Experience with prepaid trust accounting, Care and Maintenance Funds, or cemetery, funeral home, or crematorium accounting would be an advantage.

However, we recognize that these are specialized areas. Training can be provided to an otherwise exceptional accounting candidate who brings the right experience, judgment, and approach.
