Superior Glove Works Ltd.is currently hiring for a Facility Maintenance Technician to work out of its Global Headquarters located in Acton ON Canada.

More about the role:

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Facility Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining the facility in good working order / repair, upkeep of the property including snow removal in the winter, troubleshooting and repairing equipment, and providing support to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operations of production activities through regular equipment maintenance.

This individual is highly proactive with strong technical skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

- Inspect the facility and mechanical equipment to ensure safe and proper operation.
- Complete general facility repairs, including minor plumbing, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, painting, and drywall repairs.
- Maintain the outdoor premises, including groundskeeping, lawn care, garden maintenance, and snow removal.
- Complete assigned maintenance service requests.
- Drive to other company locations to collect equipment, food, and supplies for company projects and events.
- Clean and maintain the maintenance shop and other facility areas.
- Support the installation, modification, setup, operation, and monitoring of machinery and equipment.
- Perform breakdown, preventative,



and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and technical equipment issues.
- Support Engineering with machinery testing, modifications, and improvements.
- Maintain dip line forms, hand molds, racks, and related equipment.
- Maintain spare parts inventory for production and packaging equipment.
- Apply machine safeguards and Lockout/Tagout procedures when required.
- Calibrate, test, install, and assemble machinery parts and modifications.
- Maintain accurate machinery, maintenance, and process logs.
- Organize semi-annual maintenance shutdown activities.
- Coordinate routine property maintenance, including light replacement, ductwork cleaning, floor-cleaner operation, and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, workshops, and consultants.
- Ensure building and maintenance requests are addressed promptly.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation for audit and reference purposes.
- Provide backup support to the Warehouse Department, including shipping, receiving, and forklift operation.
- Maintain required equipment certifications, WHMIS training, and other annual training.
- Follow all health, safety, quality, environmental, and company procedures.
- Assist with Operations and Engineering projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of two years of relevant maintenance experience.
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.




- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician certification is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong sense of urgency, initiative, and accountability.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands.
- Ability to follow all OHSA, workplace safety, and company procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds during regular duties.
- Ability to stand, walk, and work around machinery for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate tools and equipment.
- Ability to work in an open manufacturing and warehouse environment.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Valid driver’s licence and satisfactory driving record.
- Willingness and ability to drive to other company locations and facilities when required.
