Factory Worker – Factory Freezer Trawler

Fame Fisheries Limited is currently seeking qualified candidates for Factory positions onboard our factory freezer trawler, M/V Newfound Pioneer operating out of St. John’s, NL.

Factory Workers are involved in the daily processing operations of the onboard processing and freezing factory. The work includes production, quality, sanitation, equipment and operations in the processing area.

Minimum Qualifications

- Valid passport
- Valid Transport Canada Marine Medical
- Required MED/STCW safety training
- Practical experience in fish processing, food production, or a comparable setting
- Experience with seafood processing, freezing, packing, or factory equipment is considered an asset
- Good understanding of workplace safety, hygiene, sanitation, and quality procedures
- Ability to work rotating watches, follow instructions, and work effectively as part of a team
- Previous experience aboard a factory trawler or other fishing vessel is considered an asset

Responsibilities The Factory Worker’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Operating and monitoring assigned processing, packing,



freezing, and handling equipment
- Preparing, grading, processing, packing, and storing seafood products in accordance with specifications
- Carrying out cleaning, sanitation, housekeeping as required.
- Following food safety, hygiene, PPE, risk assessment, and safe work procedures at all times.

Vessel Details

M/V Newfound Pioneer is a Canadian twin-rig high-capacity factory stern trawler which is fully equipped with an onboard processing and freezing factory. The vessel operates with a crew of approximately 25.

Rotation and Benefits The position operates on a rotation basis.
