St. Leonard’s Place Peel (SLPP) is a community-based residential program that provides a place of safety, belonging, dignity, nourishment and education for homeless men with serious mental illness and individuals who have been in conflict with the law. We are looking for a detail-oriented Finance Coordinator who can bring accuracy, sound judgment and strong financial discipline to a mission-driven environment.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Finance, the Finance Coordinator supports SLPP’s day-to-day financial and payroll operations. This role works across payroll, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, financial and funder reporting, budgeting, audit support, HRIS maintenance, cash administration and related financial documentation.

What You’ll Do

Payroll & HRIS 25%

- Process full-cycle payroll, including timesheet review, payroll worksheets/logs and payroll uploads for review and approval.
- Prepare payroll entries and support WSIB, union dues, benefits and RSP remittances and reconciliations.
- Maintain payroll/HRIS records, reconcile employee entitlements, resolve payroll discrepancies and support ROE processing.
- Prepare regular, monthly and ad hoc payroll reports.

Accounts Payable, Expenses & Cash 25%

- Manage AP subledgers, vendor reconciliations, approved invoices and vendor payments.
- Maintain petty cash and related controls and supporting documentation.
- Administer and reconcile applicable resident funds, Daily Living Allowance funds and other cash receipts.

Financial Reporting, Budgeting & Audit 25%

- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for management and funders.
- Support month-end/year-end close, reconciliations, adjusting entries, working papers and annual audit requirements.
- Support budgets, forecasts, budget-to-actual analysis and monitoring of funding agreements and spending restrictions.




- Prepare financial analysis and specific monthly reports for the Senior Management.
- Accounts Receivable & General Accounting 20%
- Process accounts receivable and monthly billing and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Perform monthly reconciliations and review general ledger accounts for accuracy and appropriate allocation.
- Maintain current and archived financial records in line with record-retention requirements.

Administration & Other Duties 5%

- Respond professionally to internal and external inquiries and maintain solid working relationships.
- Maintain Finance and payroll procedures, documentation and SOPs, and stay current with relevant requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You Bring

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business, Commerce or a related field.
- 4–6 years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including financial reporting, reconciliations, AP/AR, budgeting and payroll.
- Hands-on experience with month-end/year-end reporting, variance analysis, audit support and financial reconciliations.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting and payroll systems; Sage 50 and Ceridian/Power pay are assets.
- CPA designation, enrollment/progress toward CPA, or another recognized finance/accounting designation is a strong asset.
- Experience with funder reporting, not-for-profit accounting, publicly funded organizations or a unionized environment is an asset.
- Knowledge of ASNPO and financial controls is an asset.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail,



integrity and confidentiality.
