Theoden Group of Companies, a leading construction group based in Acheson, Alberta, Canada, is seeking a Controller to join our team. The Controller will play a critical role in the financial management of our company, ensuring that our financial practices are following Canadian accounting standards, regulatory requirements and best practices in the industry. This is a full-time position, reporting to the Vice President Finance & Treasury.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Develop, implement and maintain sound financial policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with and provide guidance and support to project managers in budgeting, forecasting, and project cost tracking, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for construction projects.
- Redesign manual transactional routines into standardized, technology driven processes with embedded controls and clear documentation
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
- Manage cash flow, including the preparation and monitoring of cash flow forecasts, to ensure that the company has sufficient liquidity to meet its obligations.

Qualifications:

- A CPA designation is required, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management role in the construction industry.




- Knowledge of Canadian accounting standards (ASPE) and construction accounting policies/practices.
- Experience with Explorer Eclipse and expert knowledge of Excel is an asset.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide sound recommendations.
- Robust leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
