The salary range for this position is CAD $25.82 - $25.82 / hour

Detailed Overview

Prepares and portions nourishment items according to special requirements of patients and residents.

Responsibilities

- Prepares nourishment items according to patient nourishment cardex by weighing, measuring and combining ingredients according to standard formula.

- Labels individual nourishment items including patient's name, ward, food item, date of preparation and required feeding time.

- Prepares and labels bulk nourishments for extended care.

- Prepares and refrigerates nourishment trays for wards for A.M. , P.M. and H.S. and assures that they are accurate and ready for delivery on meal carts.

- Prepares cold food items such as sandwiches, salads, puddings and jello.

- Prepares and delivers, rotates and stores bulk supplies to wards and other areas based on requisitions or standard quotas.





- Maintains stock of nourishment supplies.

- Cleans work area and equipment.

- Assists with patient trayline service.

- Maintains nourishment statistics.

- Records temperatures as per HACCP regulations.

- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and ExperienceGrade ten plus one year's recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Food Secure level 1 certification.Skills and Abilities

- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

- Ability to deal with others effectively.

- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

- Ability to organize work.

- Ability to operate related equipment.
