Dunwald & Fleming Enterprises Ltd. is seeking motivated, dependable, and safety-focused individuals to join our growing construction team. We are currently hiring for a variety of positions involved in underground utility installation, civil construction, earthworks, and horizontal directional drilling throughout Calgary and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities Depending on the position, duties may include:
- Report to the Foreman and follow verbal and written instructions
- Install underground utility infrastructure including natural gas, telecommunications, power, street lighting, water, sewer, and storm systems
- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Assist crews with excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling, and compaction
- Hand expose existing underground utilities
- Act as a spotter and maintain safe work zones
- Load, unload, move, and organize materials and equipment




- Read plans, grades, and utility locates
- Maintain production targets while working safely
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional worksite
- Arrive on time and ready to work every day

Requirements
- Valid driver's licence
- Minimum three years of insurable driving history
- Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Test
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to perform physically demanding work
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work safely and effectively within a crew environment
- Willingness to learn and accept coaching and training
- Some out-of-town work may be required

Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates with any of the following:
- CSTS-2020 or PCST
- WHMIS
- Standard First Aid
- Ground Disturbance Level II
- Confined Space Entry
- Class 1 Driver's Licence
- Class 3 Driver's Licence with Air Brake Endorsement
- Experience in:
- Utility Construction
- Civil Construction
- Earthworks
- Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD)
- Pipeline Construction
- HDPE Pipe Fusion
- Heavy Equipment Operation

Construction experience is an asset but not required for all positions.





Schedule

Construction season is our busiest time of year.
- April through December: Typically 50-60 hours per week
- January through March: Typically 40+ hours per week depending on workload
- Overtime is regularly available during peak construction periods
- Saturday work may be required
