Professional Opportunity: Full-time Community Support Facilitator in the Okanagan

Position Overview: The Community Support Facilitator adopts a person-centered approach, offering tailored 1:1 support to individuals grappling with the repercussions of brain injury. Their efforts encompass activities geared towards community integration, development of compensatory strategies, social enrichment, and rehabilitation aimed at enhancing inclusion and overall quality of life. Additionally, Community Support Facilitators serve as advocates for clients within the justice and healthcare systems, alongside delivering brain injury education to combat stigma.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Facilitation:

- Maintain accurate client information and documentation within Podio, adhering to Standards of Care.
- Foster regular communication with the Community Support Coordinator and Director of Client Services to ensure comprehensive client support.
- Cultivate professional relationships with community partners, families, and clients.
- Engage in ongoing outreach initiatives within marginalized communities, striving to prevent further deterioration among underserved individuals affected by brain injury.





Follow-Up:

- Actively participate in team meetings, staff development sessions, events, and the West Coast Brain Injury Conference.
- As a BrainTrust Canada staff member, be open to evaluation based on various performance metrics including understanding of client issues, values alignment, teamwork, communication proficiency, decision-making capabilities, and attendance.

Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant diploma or degree coupled with pertinent work experience, demonstrating adeptness in both independent work and team collaboration. Prior knowledge and experience in the field of brain injury are advantageous. Additionally, candidates must exhibit an understanding of harm reduction principles and cultural sensitivity. Possession of a Class 5 driver's license and access to a personal vehicle is mandatory.
