About the client

Our client is an established and highly regarded residential construction company with a strong reputation for quality craftsmanship, personalized service, and exceptional client relationships. The company specializes in high-end residential construction and has built a strong presence in the Okanagan market through a commitment to quality and attention to detail.

As the business enters its next stage of growth, they are seeking an experienced General Manager to take ownership of day-to-day operations, project execution, team leadership, and business development.

This is an exciting chance for a hands-on construction leader who wants to have a direct and visible impact on a growing business, while working closely with ownership to strengthen operations and build the foundation for continued growth.

Responsibilities

- Lead operations: Oversee custom-home projects from planning and estimating through completion, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.
- Drive growth: Identify and develop new business opportunities through client relationships, referrals, industry connections, and targeted business development.
- Lead the team: Build, develop, and manage a high-performing team of employees and key trades, establishing explicit expectations and accountability.
- Improve processes: Introduce practical, repeatable systems for estimating, scheduling, procurement, project tracking, and client communication to improve efficiency and reduce rework.
- Own the client experience:



Maintain strong relationships with clients and ensure clear, proactive communication throughout the building process.
- Manage financial performance: Take ownership of budgets, project profitability, resource allocation, and overall operational performance.
- Maintain safety and compliance: Ensure all projects meet applicable safety, regulatory, and construction requirements.

Qualifications

- Proven experience leading residential construction operations, ideally with P&L; or significant financial responsibility.
- A strong track record of delivering projects on time, on budget, and to a high standard of quality.
- Experience hiring, developing, and holding employees and trades accountable.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction, project management, estimating, scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor management.
- Solid business and financial acumen, with the ability to understand project economics and make sound operational decisions.
- Solid relationships within the Okanagan construction community, or the ability to quickly establish a relevant local network.
- A hands-on, entrepreneurial approach – you are equally comfortable on a job site, meeting with clients, reviewing financials, or solving operational challenges with your team.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Compensation

- $140,000-150,000 annual base salary
- Up to $50,000 in bonus potential
