*General Labourer – Civil / Earthworks Construction**

We're looking for a reliable, hardworking labourer to support our crew on site. It's a hands-on job, working outdoors alongside equipment operators and the site foreman.

Responsibilities

- Rake, shovel and hand-grade material (topsoil, gravel, fill, asphalt)
- Operate power tools and equipment safely, including chop saws / cut-off saws, jackhammers and breakers, plate tampers and rammers, and other small equipment
- Cut and break concrete, asphalt and pipe as needed
- Help with pipe, culvert and drainage installs, erosion control (silt fence, blankets, rip rap) and site restoration
- Spot for equipment operators and help with grade checks
- Load, unload and move materials, tools and equipment
- Keep the site clean and organized, and help set up traffic control and site barriers
- Do basic tool and equipment maintenance and pre-use inspections
- Follow Devcon's safety program, including hazard assessments, toolbox talks and PPE requirements

Requirements

- Construction or landscaping labour experience is an asset, but we'll train the right person




- Comfortable using power tools such as chop saws and jackhammers, or willing to learn
- Physically fit and able to lift 50+ lbs, work on your feet all day and work outdoors in all weather
- Reliable, punctual and a valuable team player
- Able to follow directions and work safely
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence and reliable transportation to get to job sites
- Your own CSA-approved steel-toed boots

Nice to Have

- Standard First Aid / CPR
- Ground Disturbance Level II, Confined Space or Traffic Control (Flagger) certification
- Experience with skid steers, compact excavators or other equipment
