The General Labourer/ Furnace Helper reports to the Production Supervisor of Woodbridge Glass Distribution and supports daily production operations through a variety of general labour duties. This position requires flexibility, as employees may be assigned to different positions or departments within the non-unionized plant based on production requirements. Key furnace-line responsibilities include ensuring glass is accurately labelled, handled, and placed in the designated storage areas.

SHIFT: Days from 6:00am – 2:30pm

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Label glass accurately and remove sharp edges as required.
- Work collaboratively with the Tempering Line Operator to support safe and productive production.
- Scan product labels using a handheld scanner.
- Remove completed glass from the tempering line.
- Store finished tempered glass in the appropriate designated locations.




- Perform required testing of tempered glass.
- Verify that customer orders are complete and accurate.
- Inspect finished glass for quality defects, including chips, scratches, or other imperfections.
- Perform other production and general labour duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Ability to work safely and independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to accurately use a tape measure.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably from industry or heavy industrial environments

Hourly rate $21.45 per hour
