Hair Inc Academy is looking for an experienced, licensed Alberta Hairstylist who has the technical knowledge, personality and confidence to become part of our education team.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE AN EXPERIENCED TEACHER.

Teaching experience is an asset, but it is not required.

If you are a strong hairstylist who enjoys helping others, explaining techniques, demonstrating your work and watching other people improve, we are willing to train the right person to become an educator.

This could be an exciting next chapter for a stylist who wants to stay connected to the beauty industry while expanding their career beyond working behind the chair.

You may be a great fit if you are:

- An experienced Alberta-certified hairstylist
- Confident with cutting, colour, styling and professional salon techniques
- Comfortable demonstrating techniques in front of others
- Patient enough to work with beginners who are still developing their skills
- Able to give clear direction and constructive feedback according to school guidelines and AIT training requirements
- Dependable, professional and organized
- A strong communicator
- Open to learning new techniques, products and teaching methods
- Someone students can look up to as an example of professionalism in the industry
- A team player who wants to contribute to a growing academy

Most importantly, you should genuinely enjoy helping other hairstylists become better at what they do.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Hairstyling Educator, you won't just stand in front of a classroom reading from a textbook.

You'll teach, demonstrate,



coach and mentor.

You'll help students take what they learn in theory and turn it into skills they can actually use behind the chair.

Your role will include

- Teaching hairstyling theory and practical techniques using Hair Inc Academy's established curriculum and digital learning platform
- Demonstrating cutting, colouring, styling, tools, products and professional salon techniques
- Coaching students during hands-on practical training
- Helping students develop confidence, speed and technical ability
- Teaching professional salon habits and client-service skills
- Evaluating practical work, assignments and student progress
- Providing constructive feedback and grading
- Supporting students who may need additional guidance
- Maintaining a professional, organized, clean and safe learning environment
- Following Hair Inc Academy policies and applicable provincial requirements
- Working collaboratively with our education and administrative team
- Continuing to learn and stay current with industry techniques, products and trends

ABOUT HAIR INC ACADEMY Hair Inc Academy is an accredited and licensed post-secondary institution in Edmonton educating the next generation of professional hairstylists and barbers.

We believe beauty education should be hands-on, current, creative and connected to the real industry.

Our students don't just learn theory.

They learn how to work with real people, solve real hair challenges, develop professional habits and build the confidence required to enter the beauty industry.

Our program combines technical education, hands-on training, digital learning, product knowledge and practical salon experience.

And we believe our educators are one of the most important parts of that experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED:

- Valid Alberta Hairstylist certification/licence




- Professional hairstyling industry experience
- Strong technical knowledge of hairstyling, tools and professional products
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills
- Skilled and dependable attendance
- Ability to work the required schedule

PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED:

- Previous hairstyling or cosmetology teaching experience
- Previous mentoring, training or leadership experience
- Experience coaching junior stylists or apprentices

This is currently a part-time position, with the possibility of additional teaching opportunities as Hair Inc Academy continues to grow.
