MCL Group Ltd. is looking to hire a Heavy Duty Mechanic. This is a field based position and the individual must have experience with off road equipment. Sub Contractor mechanics only please.

Responsibilities:

- Diagnose and repair heavy equipment including dozers, scrapers, excavators, rock trucks, skid steers, graders, etc.
- Working with the site foreman and operators to diagnose various equipment issues.
- Maintain detailed records and organization plans.
- Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer’s procedures and in safe and responsible manner within a designated time-frame.
- Various related duties as required.
- Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.

Qualifications:

- Must have 3-5 years of experience with heavy equipment, water trucks, fuel and lube trucks and pick up trucks.
- Red Seal Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic ticket is an asset.
- Experience fixing scrapers is an asset.
- Experienced with highway and off highway an asset.
- Experience with air conditioning, welding, transmission/engine repair/re-builds, airbrakes.
- Experience with Cat and Komatsu equipment.




- High degree of product and technical knowledge with robust diagnostics capabilities.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- CVIP experience is an asset.
- Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Dedication to safety.
- You must have your own tools.
- Your CSO safety certificate is required on sites. First Aid, and H2S are definately assets.

Work Conditions Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toe safety boots, safety glasses, etc.

Overtime as required.

Hazards associated with the trade are working outdoors in various conditions.

May be exposed to high levels of noise.
