Job Overview

We are seeking a Journeyman Full time Heavy duty Mechanic/Technician to assist with repairs and maintenance on our vehicle fleet. The ideal candidate will have experience on highway tractors and garbage trucks with knowledge of hydraulics. In addition Welding certifications are considered an asset.

Duties

- Conduct vehicle repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are upheld.
- Coordinate with other mechanics and technicians for timely repairs and maintenance
- Working with the fleet manager to assist with procurement of vehicle parts, and other services via 3rd parties.
- Monitor maintenance costs, and overall fleet performance
- Ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle inventory, maintenance schedules, and repairs and work orders.
- Perform both preventative and break down maintenance.
- Full-time hours Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm with Overtime as required.




- Ability to respond to priority breakdowns during evenings or weekends.

Requirements -Heavy Duty Mechanic

-Must be a Journeyman.

- Experience with highway tractors and garbage trucks with knowledge of hydraulics is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics
- Familiarity with hand tools, welding, and heavy equipment operation
- Skid steer and forklift operation is a plus
- Experience with Tractors, trailers, rearload, roll off, sideload and frontload waste equipment is strongly preferred.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills

This position offers competitive wages based on experience and qualifications. Job Types: Full time, Permanent

Pay: $50.00-$57.00 per hour
