Heavy-Duty Truck & Trailer Mechanic

National Freight Ltd. (NFL) is seeking a reliable and motivated Heavy-Duty Truck & Trailer Mechanic to join our fleet maintenance team in Calgary, Alberta. The successful candidate will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and inspections on heavy-duty trucks and trailers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our fleet.

Responsibilities:

- Perform general repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and trailers
- Change and repair truck and trailer tires
- Replace and repair brake chambers, brake pots, and other brake components
- Perform hub seal and wheel-end repairs
- Carry out basic suspension and steering repairs
- Troubleshoot air brake and basic electrical issues
- Perform oil changes, preventive maintenance services, and routine inspections
- Diagnose mechanical problems and recommend required repairs




- Maintain accurate repair and maintenance records
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe

Requirements:

- Minimum 1–2 years of heavy-duty truck and trailer mechanic experience
- Experience working on semi-trucks and trailers
- Knowledge of truck and trailer tires, brakes, hub seals, and general mechanical repairs
- Ability to diagnose and repair basic mechanical, air brake, and electrical systems
- Own mechanic tools required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Robust troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Class 5 driver's licence is an asset

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 48.0 per week
