Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Rental Fleet Technician

We’re looking for experienced mechanics who take pride in diagnosing problems, making reliable repairs and getting equipment safely back to customers. You’ll work primarily in a shop environment on a varied rental fleet that includes aerial lifts, material handling equipment, small engines and related machinery.

What you’ll do

- Inspect, diagnose, maintain and repair equipment across the rental fleet.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and fuel systems using schematics, diagnostic tools and manufacturer guidance.
- Complete preventive maintenance, safety inspections and scheduled repairs.
- Identify defects and safety concerns, determine what repairs are needed and communicate equipment status to the service team.
- Complete work orders with accurate labour time, parts used, repair notes and follow-up requirements.
- Work with parts, dispatch, sales and branch staff to help prioritize repairs and keep equipment available for customers.
- Maintain a clean, organized shop and follow safe work practices, equipment procedures and PPE requirements.




- Support service calls or other branch needs where required by the position.

What we’re looking for

- At least three years of relevant repair experience with equipment such as aerial lifts, forklifts, heavy equipment, construction machinery, vehicles or small engines.
- Solid troubleshooting ability across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Ability to read schematics, service manuals and repair instructions.
- Experience completing preventive maintenance and documenting repairs accurately.
- A valid driver’s licence and the ability to meet the physical requirements of the role.
- Basic computer skills for work orders, time entries and parts records.
- Authorization to work in Canada.

Journeyperson or Red Seal certification in a related trade is preferred. Experience in equipment rental, aerial lifts, forklifts or material handling is a strong asset. Manufacturer training and additional equipment or safety certifications are also welcome.
