SMS Equipment is growing in Elkford, BC. We're hiring a Heavy Equipment Technician, Journeyperson or 4th Year Apprentice to support mining and construction operations in a remote field environment. If you’re a skilled troubleshooter with a safety-first mindset and the ability to work independently, we want to hear from you.

Base Wage: $47.08- $52.31 per hour. Additional premiums apply

Location: Elkford, BC. Housing is available.

Schedule: 14x14 rotation

What You'll Do

- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems on heavy mining and construction equipment
- Perform overhauls, maintenance, and new equipment builds
- Troubleshoot issues using computerized and manual diagnostic tools
- Work independently in remote field settings, including adverse weather and confined spaces
- Follow safety protocols and contribute to continuous improvement in safe work practices
- Lift up to 50 lbs as required by the role

What You Bring The successful candidate will possess a 4th Year Apprentice or Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification. Other requirements include:

- Strong commitment to safety
- Experience in repair/maintenance of heavy equipment
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Some positions may require the ability to travel to meet customer site requirements
- Experience with Komatsu equipment is considered an asset
- Valid Class 5/G Drivers licence
