Scholars of Richmond is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic part-time high school-level Math & Science tutor to join our growing team! As a teacher at Scholars, you'll have the opportunity to positively impact students both personally and academically. We take pride in delivering results that matter to all of our students, and our teachers play a key role in this journey.
The successful candidate will be trained in Scholars’ teaching methodology, focusing on students' understanding of the material rather than simply being able to answer homework questions. Candidates must be confident teaching high school concepts up to grade 12 to elementary and high school students. Here’s what we’re looking for:
● BC Certified Teachers are preferred, but not required.
● Candidates currently enrolled in a college or university working towards a degree are encouraged to apply
● Previous experience tutoring or working with younger students is an asset
● Excellent English oral and written skills
● A passion to help students reach their potential
● Exceptionally organized and high attention to detail
● Ability to teach groups of up to 3 students
● Must be able to teach math or science up to grade 12, including the following subjects: Advanced Functions, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry
● Experience teaching French or being a native French speaker is an asset
● Candidates must be able to work a minimum of two shifts per week within our hours of operation below:
● Monday - Friday 2:00 - 7:00 pm
● Saturdays 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
