Sutherland-Schultz is currently seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Manager to join our team. Based out of our Cambridge, Ontario office, this position will be responsible for overseeing and supporting maintenance operations across our various industrial client and project sites.

The Industrial Maintenance Manager will provide leadership and oversight for our maintenance-related work, ensuring projects and ongoing maintenance programs are properly planned, staffed, executed, and supported. This individual will work closely with clients, project teams, supervisors, tradespeople, subcontractors, and internal departments to ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with client expectations.

This is a hands-on management position that requires a strong understanding of industrial maintenance operations, planning and scheduling, field execution, and client relationship management. The successful candidate will be comfortable moving between the office and the field, regularly visiting maintenance project sites to support our teams and maintain strong relationships with our clients.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide overall management and oversight of Sutherland-Schultz's ongoing maintenance contracts.
- Regularly visit maintenance-related project sites to support field teams, review operations, meet with clients, and ensure work is progressing safely and effectively.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs based on client and operational requirements.
- Oversee the planning and scheduling of maintenance activities, including labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other required resources.
- Work closely with project managers, supervisors, forepersons, tradespeople, and administrative support to ensure maintenance work is properly planned and executed.
- Provide leadership and direction to maintenance personnel and support the development of effective, accountable field teams.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients, acting as a key point of contact for maintenance operations, planning, performance, and upcoming requirements.




- Work proactively with clients to understand operational priorities, equipment needs, shutdown requirements, and future maintenance opportunities.
- Coordinate and oversee planned shutdowns, outages, equipment maintenance, repairs, and other major maintenance activities.
- Monitor project performance, including schedules, labour requirements, productivity, costs, outstanding work, and overall progress.
- Identify resource constraints, scheduling conflicts, operational concerns, and potential project risks and work proactively with the appropriate parties to resolve them.
- Ensure adequate manpower and resources are available to meet project and client requirements.
- Support procurement and coordination of materials, equipment, subcontractors, and specialized services required for maintenance activities.
- Review maintenance documentation, reports, schedules, work orders, and other project records to ensure information is accurate and complete.
- Participate in client and internal project meetings and provide updates regarding project performance, scheduling, manpower, priorities, and upcoming requirements.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with Sutherland-Schultz and client health and safety requirements, quality standards, policies, and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with Health & Safety, Operations, Account Management, and other internal departments to support successful project execution.
- Assist with estimating, budgeting, proposals, and planning for new or expanded maintenance opportunities as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, increase efficiency, reduce downtime, and provide additional value to clients.
- Support the continued development and growth of Sutherland-Schultz's industrial maintenance services.
- Travel regularly to company and client project sites as required.

Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in industrial maintenance management, supervision, project management, or a similar leadership role is required.
- Strong understanding of industrial maintenance operations, including preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance.




- Demonstrated experience with maintenance planning, scheduling, and field execution within an industrial or manufacturing workplace.
- Experience coordinating skilled trades, labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project resources.
- Experience managing multiple maintenance projects, sites, or client requirements simultaneously is considered a strong asset.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively support and manage field personnel and project teams.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with plant shutdowns, outages, and major industrial maintenance activities is considered an asset.
- Strong computer skills
- Valid driver's licence and reliable ability to travel to project and client sites as required. Ability to travel cross-border to the United States on an occasional basis as business and project requirements dictate.

Location & Travel

This position will be based out of Sutherland-Schultz's Cambridge office. Regular travel to industrial maintenance project sites will be an important part of the role. The Industrial Maintenance Manager will be expected to maintain a visible presence at our maintenance sites to support employees, monitor project performance, and maintain strong client relationships.

Occasional cross-border travel to client or project locations in the United States may also be required based on operational and business needs.

Pay: $100,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
