Position: Inventory Control Lead

Position Overview

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Inventory Control Lead is responsible for all tasks involved in ensuring that inventory is accurate, cycle counts are completed weekly using a proper tracking method or any other program the company decides can be maintained. The Inventory Control Lead will lead by example and work to motivate all warehouse team members. The role entails assigning tasks to team members and giving them specific directions and procedures to follow in completing those tasks.

Key Functions & Duties

- Create & maintain a cycle counting process ensuring all materials are counted based on our ABC system
- Maintain accuracy of all inventory, creating and controlling the movement of materials in the warehouse as well as movement to and from vendors.
- Look at ways to increase Warehouse Utilization, determine what the goal should be and what steps are needed to maintain it.
- Develop and utilize industry standard FIFO approaches
- Motivate workers to enhance efficiency and at the same time maintain high production standards
- Inspect received items for accurate count and label product and assign stock locations for material handlers to put product away
- Perform physical inventory counts and/or cycle counts as needed.
- Keep records of all cycle counts and any necessary inventory adjustments.
- Organize and help prioritize production picks to shop floor
- Maintain cleanliness of inventory area.




- Work as middleman between workers and management to create healthy communication.
- The ability to learn the other functions of Warehouse Leadership team to ensure we have proper coverage during vacations and other time-off requests.
- Perform other duties as required

Qualifications and Skills

- Solid understanding of Excel, Word and Outlook and ERP system
- Must be safety cautious
- Ability to give directions to team members
- Have good time management skills.
- Ability to work well with cross functional teams
- Critical thinking & good judgement
- Possess strong interpersonal skills to relate with all members of the team
- Ability to become a licensed forklift operator is an asset
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years' experience in warehousing environment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: From $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
