- IT Operations Analyst II - Calgary
- The IT Operations Analyst II independently supports and administers a broad range of technology services. The role balances operational support, infrastructure administration, security responsibilities, and service improvement initiatives while serving as a technical resource for junior staff. The IT Operations Analyst II is expected to lead smaller initiatives, manage complex incidents, and proactively improve operational effectiveness.

Duties Responsibilities
Service Support
Responsibilities
- Resolve complex incidents and service requests.
- Manage escalations requiring advanced troubleshooting.
- Coordinate communication during service disruptions.
- Develop strong relationships with business stakeholders.
- Act as an escalation point for junior analysts.

Infrastructure Platform Operations
Responsibilities
- Administer Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID, networking, and operational platforms.
- Monitor system performance and reliability.
- Perform root cause analysis on recurring operational issues.
- Lead maintenance activities and planned changes.
- Participate in infrastructure modernization initiatives.

Security Risk
Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and operational risks.
- Participate in vulnerability remediation efforts.
- Support security audits, compliance activities, and access reviews.

Automation Continuous Improvement
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement workflow improvements.
- Create automation solutions to reduce manual effort.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives.

- Maintain operational standards and documentation.

Qualifications Skills
- Advanced degree or extensive experience in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, M365, and automation tools.
- Years of Experience: 3-8 years in IT operations, systems administration, or a senior IT role.
- ITIL Expert certification (preferred) or substantial experience applying ITIL frameworks in enterprise IT environments.
This position performs highly technical application work requiring in-depth knowledge of detailed and complex application functions, security, backup, availability, monitoring, reporting, and alerting requirements.
- Excellent knowledge of business, system, application, database, services, and integration design and development
- Working knowledge in various monitoring/alerting solutions
- Advanced knowledge in authentication and authorization frameworks like Active Directory and supporting policies
- Able to improve, support and understand key M365 offerings
- Providing analysis and showing trends for problems and escalating to the proper areas
- Good written and verbal skills for both technical and business issues. Communicates well in both technical and non-technical environments.
- Knowledge on how to prepare technical and non-technical documents.
- Coaching and mentoring skills
- Prioritize, plan, organize, work well under time constraints, respond to internal and external demands
- Systems thinking to consider the impacts a solution may have on other applications, teams and businesses
- Builds a team environment and drives collaboration to achieve success
- Expert understanding of the process flows with respect to the ticketing software being used by the team
Working Conditions
- The role is fast-paced and dynamic with on-call duties one week out of every six.
- Normal weekday office hours.
