Janitor/Maintenance Worker – Fort St. James # 2026-038

Location: Fort St. James, Connexus Fort St. James Office Building and other Connexus Buildings

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, Sunday to Thursday, additional hours may be required on an as needed basis. Janitorial: 30hrs per week & Maintenance: 7.5 hr per week

Salary: Janitorial: 23.04 – $26.39 per hour as per CSSEA & CSSBA Collective Agreement (Grid Level 3)

Maintenance: $$27.53– $31.57 per hour as per CSSEA & CSSBA Collective Agreement (Grid Level 10)

Job Summary

Janitorial responsibilities cleaning floors, walls, carpets, disposing of refuse, cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, cleaning windows, dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures and cleaning bathrooms. Work areas will include Connexus office building and other Connexus buildings in Fort St. James.

Maintenance: Performs maintenance and repairs related to buildings, grounds, and equipment in areas such as electrical, plumbing, painting, snow removal and groundskeeping at Connexus Facilities in Fort St James. This includes Westside Court, Pioneer Place, Pioneer Lodge, Neghuni Ghunli-un and FSJ Connexus Office Building. Carries out preventative maintenance procedures and schedules for buildings, equipment, and grounds.

Ensures building and equipment meet all safety, security and fire regulations and policies.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Completion of grade 12 or the equivalent education and experience
- One to two years recent related experience is desirable




- WHMIS training or willingness to attend training.
- Observes all safety instructions and adheres to manufacturers label instructions for safe and proper use of all equipment and products.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- The flexibility to take initiative and prioritize tasks and time-manage to get important duties done within the timeframe

Required:

- Valid class 5 driver’s license & satisfactory drivers abstract
- Criminal Record Check clearance
- This position requires union membership
