Knelsen is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Licensed Truck and Trailer Mechanic to join our team in La Crete, Alberta. This is a full-time position responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the Company’s fleet of trucks, trailers, and related equipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment.
- Complete repairs to engines, drivetrains, brakes, suspension, steering, electrical, hydraulic, and air systems.
- Conduct Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) inspections on trailers and ensure repairs meet applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
- Complete work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance documentation accurately.
- Work collaboratively with shop personnel, drivers, and supervisors to prioritize repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
- Follow all Company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Perform other maintenance and repair duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

- Journeyman Truck and Transport Mechanic certification, or equivalent relevant mechanical experience and qualifications.




- Trailer CVIP Inspector certification, or the qualifications and willingness to obtain certification.
- Experience repairing and maintaining commercial trucks and trailers.
- Strong knowledge of heavy-duty mechanical, electrical, brake, air, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues independently.
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License; a Class 1 or Class 3 License is an asset.
- Current driver’s abstract with fewer than six demerits and no major traffic convictions, in accordance with Company policy.
- Strong commitment to protected work practices and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize competing repair needs.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime when required.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
