Right Choice Energy Services Inc. (RCESI) is currently accepting applications for Journeyperson Welders to join our growing team based in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

Reporting to the Shop and/or Site Supervisor(s), you will play an important role in supporting fabrication and construction activities in both our shop and field environments. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced welders looking to apply their skills in a variety of structural, piping, and oil & gas fabrication environments.

DSP Welders are also welcome to apply. **

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Reading and interpreting drawings, welding symbols, and specifications to determine layout and fabrication requirements in accordance with client specifications, applicable codes, and RCESI Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Fitting and welding structural and piping components as required and assigned, using appropriate welding techniques based on the properties and requirements of various metals and welding processes
- Safely operating and maintaining welding equipment, air/oxy/fuel cutting equipment, power tools, hand tools, and mobile equipment as required and certified
- Following applicable welding codes, RCESI WPS requirements, and project specifications to ensure completed work meets quality and inspection requirements
- Completing visual inspections and dimensional checks, participating in RCESI’s Quality Control Program and applicable Inspection and Test Plan requirements, and maintaining productivity and quality standards while minimizing rework
- Following proper requirements for welding consumable storage, heating, handling, and maintenance
- Safely performing welding and related work at heights from scaffolds or aerial work platforms as required
- Completing required daily logbooks and equipment inspections, performing routine maintenance,



and reporting equipment issues or major maintenance requirements to the Supervisor
- Providing guidance and mentorship to apprentices and less experienced welders as required
- Communicating effectively with coworkers and Supervisor(s) to ensure timely and quality fabrication while maintaining clean, organized, and safe work areas, tools, and equipment
- Performing other duties as assigned

The successful candidate will:

- Possess a valid Journeyperson Welder certification recognized in Saskatchewan or an interprovincial equivalent
- Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in structural and/or pipe welding, preferably in an oil & gas or production shop environment
- Have a strong working knowledge of welding and pipefitting disciplines, applicable welding codes, and RCESI Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Have experience producing welds that meet applicable welding test and inspection requirements, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and minimizing rework
- Have strong measuring, layout, and cutting skills, with knowledge of SMAW, FCAW, and/or MCAW welding processes and valid, up-to-date welding tickets and qualifications for applicable procedures
- Be safety conscious, committed to meeting all safety requirements, and able to report fit for duty at the onset of each shift
- Be team-oriented with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a demanding workplace
- Be physically capable of performing the demands of the position, including lifting over 20 lbs, standing for extended periods, and demonstrating worksite mobility




- Be willing and able to work in shop and field environments and varying weather conditions, including overtime and weekends when required
- Hold or be willing to obtain, before their start date, valid First Aid and H2S Alive certifications
- Be willing to travel throughout Southern Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba
- Hold a valid driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract

This is a safety-sensitive position. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must successfully complete a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol test. In addition, audiometric and lung function testing will be scheduled by the Health & Safety Coordinator upon hire in accordance with applicable provincial regulations.
