We’re looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to join our Agriculture team in a full-time position based at our Steinbach office. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with foundational accounting knowledge who is ready to begin building a meaningful career in public practice. You’ll gain hands-on experience, work closely with knowledgeable team members, and build your technical skills in an environment where questions are welcomed, and learning is part of the job.

- Foundational knowledge of accounting principles gained through education or related experience.

- Confidence using computers and learning new programs and technology.

- An interest in agriculture and the farming community is a great fit for this role. Any previous knowledge or experience in the sector is welcomed, but there will be plenty of opportunity to learn along the way.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Junior Accountant, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals and gain hands-on exposure to a variety of accounting and tax services. You’ll build your skills through practical experience while gradually taking on more responsibility as your knowledge and confidence grow.

- Preparing compilation engagements, including reconciling accounts, posting journal entries, and organizing supporting documentation.
- Preparing sales tax returns, including GST and PST.
- Assisting with the preparation of corporate income tax returns (T2s).
- Preparing personal income tax returns (T1s) during personal tax season in March and April.
- Preparing and reviewing bookkeeping, as required.
- Maintaining timely and professional communication with clients and colleagues.
- Building positive, trusted relationships with the people you work with.
- Developing your knowledge of accounting standards, tax requirements, technology, and industry practices.
- Taking on other responsibilities related to the position as your knowledge and experience grow.
