About Botting & Associates (Alberta) Ltd.

Botting has been a leader in the mechanical construction industry for over 70 years, specializing in commercial, institutional, industrial and multi-unit residential projects. We are currently looking for a talented, dedicated, professional individual to join our estimating team. The successful candidate will possess exceptional troubleshooting and communication skills.

Your Role

As Junior Estimator, you will be responsible for quantifying and evaluating mechanical plans and specifications by gathering proposals, related information and documents. Manage and maintain relationships with partners, suppliers, consultants, contractors, industry affiliates on an ongoing basis.

This role will be entry level so minimal experience is required and training will be provided. You will be working as part of a team environment and report to management.

This is a permanent, full-time position.

Responsibilities:

- Quantify and evaluate all cost related components of new project opportunities
- Procure any potential project subcontractors and equipment vendors
- Prepare requests for information or solutions to identified issues that will affect project tenders.
- Estimate cost changes in scope of work
- Review and quality check close out documents
- Prepare estimates, bid submissions
- Assemble accurate and well organized estimates, budgets,



and proposals in a timely manner.
- Build and maintain relationships with contractors and clients
- Interpret scope of works and drawings
- Maintain updated records of unit rates, and material costs
- Solicit and track competitive pricing from trades, and suppliers
- Keep up with industry standards, codes, practices as relevant to your position
- Identify and communicate any problems/errors within the estimating program
- Attend site walkthroughs to gather useful information to evaluate project requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

- Some experience in construction or with mechanical systems is an asset
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent organizational skills
- Type 50+WPM
- Class 5 drivers license and own your own vehicle
- High School Diploma
- Relevant post-secondary education

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
