Junior Water Resources Engineer

TREK Engineering Inc. is seeking an Junior Water Resources Engineer. Are you a motivated and entrepreneurial individual who wants to be challenged and contribute to building a growing Water Resources team? As a core member of the engineering and project leadership team you will be responsible for supporting our water resources engineering projects.

Individuals who have a strong technical foundation in prairie hydrology, open-channel hydraulics and who are enthusiastic about taking more control of their careers will be well suited to meet the expectations of this position.

Qualifications:

· University degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering required. Graduate degree and successful Project Management experience considered an asset.

· Consulting experience in Civil or Water Resources Engineering considered an asset.

· Currently registered or eligible as an Engineering Intern in Manitoba or eligible for registration.

· Strong leadership/mentorship skills.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical report and proposal writing.





· Experience with hydrotechnical modelling skills in hydrologic and 1D / 2D hydraulic software considered essential (HEC).

· Data management and communication skills through demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) considered an asset.

· Valid drivers' license required.

· Willingness to work overtime and outside the City of Winnipeg, on occasion.

Job Responsibilities:

· Technical engineering and project leadership, including hydrologic assessment, hydraulic modelling, surface drainage design, erosion and sedimentation control, wind and wave analysis, flood mapping, flood management and protection design.

· Conduct technical analysis; conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs; report and proposal writing.

· Project management for small to large scale projects including all phases from client management, site investigation, engineering analysis and design, preparation of reports, preparation of construction drawings, specifications and contract administration/construction inspection.

· Prepare and review project deliverables (reports, specifications, and drawings).

· Other engineering related responsibilities as required.
