Position Overview: As a Lead Carpenter/Renovation Specialist at Vulcan Construction / Shift Accessibility, you will play a critical role in completing a variety of residential and commercial construction projects, including accessibility enhancements. The ideal candidate will have experience in general carpentry and home repairs, as well as a passion for improving the function and aesthetics of spaces, with care for accessibility needs.

Key Responsibilities & Expectations:

- Perform a wide range of tasks including, but not limited to: framing & rough carpentry, trim and finish carpentry, cabinet repair and installation, door repair and installation, building and repairing ramps and railings, installing safety features such as grab bars.
- Mud, tape, sand, and paint drywall surfaces to smooth finish
- Backsplash and bathroom tile install and repair
- Accurately assess and diagnose repair and installation needs
- Maintain clean and organized job sites
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with clients, ensuring excellent customer services
- Manage time effectively and meet project deadlines
- Ensure all work meets local building codes and safety regulations.

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications :




- Red Seal in Carpentry preferred but not required
- Proven experience in carpentry and general handyman work
- Proficiency in mudding, taping, and painting drywall
- Experience with cabinetry, trim, and door work
- Comfortable with both residential and light commercial projects
- Ability to install ADA compliant grab bars and ramps
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience in writing detailed estimates and invoices
- Comfortable using mobile or tablet based apps for job management and payment processing
- Valid Class 5 Drivers license and reliable transportation
- Owns tools and basic equipment (preferred)
- Ability to pass a background check (if required)
- Familiar with all safety protocols
- Willingness and ability to do some work in northern communities
