Lead the field team on a local water meter exchange project in St. Thomas. $34–$39/hr based on experience.

This is your chance to move beyond a standard technician seat and into a lead role on a water meter exchange project in St. Thomas, Ontario. You will still get your hands dirty completing residential and commercial meter exchanges, but you will also be the go-to person for troubleshooting, guidance and support across the technician team.

You will help train and onboard new technicians, set the tone for quality and productivity, and work directly with the Project Manager to flag field issues and keep the project on track. What You'll Be Doing
Completing water meter exchanges at residential and commercial properties to a high standard
Guiding, supporting and assisting technicians in the field so the whole team performs well
Solving the more complex installations and issues that others escalate to you
Helping maintain quality and productivity standards across the project
Training and onboarding technicians as the project requires
Keeping the Project Manager informed on field issues, access concerns and project updates
Completing assigned appointments according to the project schedule
Accurately recording meter information and work completion using mobile devices and digital reporting systems
Representing the project professionally and courteously with every customer
Following all required safety procedures and project requirements
What We're Looking For
Previous experience with water meter exchanges, plumbing, utility work or similar field service work
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and provide direction to others
Strong communication and customer service skills
Comfort using smartphones, tablets and digital reporting systems A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Legal entitlement to work in Canada
Ability to pass any required background or screening checks
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather, with frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling and work in confined or restricted spaces
Ability to lift and carry up to approximately 40 lbs
Previous experience leading, training or supporting technicians is an asset
Availability to work until 6:00 PM is an asset, and Saturday availability is preferred
Compensation & Work Model
$34.00 to $39.00 per hour, based on experience
Project-based contractor position
Onsite field work at residential and commercial properties
Flexibility to accommodate project scheduling requirements is expected

Location & Travel
Work takes place on-site at residential and commercial properties in St. Thomas, Ontario. Candidates located in St. Thomas or the surrounding area are preferred.
