We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Licensed/ Dispensing Optician to join our dynamic optical team. In this vital role, you will be the primary point of contact for patients seeking vision care, combining technical expertise with exceptional customer service. Your expertise in optical products, laboratory procedures, and retail sales will ensure patients receive accurate prescriptions and stylish, comfortable eyewear.

Responsibilities

- Assist patients in selecting eyewear that fits their prescription, style preferences, and lifestyle needs
- Take precise measurements for lens fitting, including pupillary distance and frame size
- Dispense and adjust glasses to ensure optimal fit and comfort for each patient
- Provide detailed explanations of lens options, coatings, and frame features using clear, patient-friendly language
- Maintain accurate patient records using optical software
- Conduct laboratory procedures such as lens ordering, edging, and mounting to ensure quality standards are met
- Promote retail sales by recommending appropriate eyewear accessories and additional vision care products
- Stay updated on the latest optical trends, products, and technological advancements to better serve patients




- Support administrative tasks such as insurance verification, billing, POS transactions, and data entry using electronic medical records systems

Requirements

- Proven experience as a Dispensing Optician or in an optical retail environment with strong knowledge of optical products and services
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to eye health and vision correction
- Retail sales experience with a focus on customer service excellence
- Knowledge of optical software systems for patient record management
- Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse patients
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Certification or licensure as required by local regulations for Dispensing Opticians is preferred but not required
